Menopause & Mental Well-being
I meet with women who are experiencing menopausal symptoms which are affecting their mental well-being such as: mood swings, depression and anxiety, hot flushes, sleep disruptions, bodily changes, etc.
Having completed the Postgraduate Training in Clinical Hypnosis course for healthcare professionals, I am certified with the Australian Society of Hypnosis, WA Branch.
Clinical hypnosis is an effective treatment for menopausal symptoms.
We all know our bodies best but in times of strife we sometimes forget that the answers are within ourselves. As a trained Acceptance and Commitment therapist, I use a strength-based, values-based approach to my counselling work. I assist clients to determine their goals and then make a plan to COMMIT to these goals. In turn, there are things in life we can not change easily so I provide clients with ways and means to ACCEPT what life brings our way. In doing this, I rely on mindfulness practices of awareness of our thoughts without judgement, focusing on the here and now, and self-compassion.
